INFLUENCE OF PRINCIPAL INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP BEHAVIOUR ON THE ORGANISATIONAL COMMITMENT OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS IN SURAKARTA

Purpose – The main objective of this study was to identify the influence principal instructional leadership on teacher organizational commitment in junior high schools Surakarta. This issue arises because there are discrepancies findings previous studies as well lack Indonesia. Accordingly, no definitive conclusions can be drawn relation which is still pending. Methodology conducted by applying a quantitative approach and cross-sectional survey design. A total 264 teachers participated study. They were selected using stratified random technique. Two standardized questionnaires namely Principal Instructional Management Rating Scale (PIMRS) developed Hallinger Murphy (1985) Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) Allen Meyer (1990) used measure their respective organizations. To analyze data, SPSS version 26 descriptive while SmartPLS 3.0 measurement model hypothesis testing. Findings Descriptive statistics showed that mean score 3.7 3.3. Both these scores indicated level at moderate levels. In assessment model, had acceptable convergent discriminant validity. Meanwhile, testing, found (β= 0.397) commitment. Significance have contributed development knowledge field context education suggests if teachers’ school/ organization enhanced, school principals should practice extensive leadership.
